| Harrisville |
The township of Harrisville in the dairying district of the Fassifern Valley, 20 minutes south of Ipswich, celebrates a proud history. Regular screenings are held of films by pioneer film-makers, Charles and Elsa Chauvel, producers of Errol Flynn's first epic In the Wake of the Bounty. They used locations around Harrisville in their first film The Moth of Moonbi, as well as from Chauvel's property, Summerlands, at Mutdapilly. Settled in the mid-1860s as a cotton growing centre, Harrisville's heritage is traced in the town's museum and buildings such as the century old School of Arts. Visitors to Harrisville can enjoy local wines, a drink at a country pub, or a meal in a heritage cafe.

| Goodna |
Goodna is a suburb on the eastern edge of the City of Ipswich. It is bounded to the north by the Brisbane River and is a vibrant community with a rich history. Founded in 1856 when the area was still part of New South Wales, it celebrated its 150 year anniversary in 2006. Its beginnings can be traced back further to 1823 when it was originally visited by an exploration party led by John Oxley. Historically Goodna was a farming community. Primarily sugar, cotton, livestock, and also had a large local timber industry. The Brisbane River runs to the North of Goodna, adding to the serene feel of the parks together with riverfront properties, and one of the only boat ramps on the Brisbane River. It is a multi-cultural community bringing out the best that is Australian. There are extensive old Jacaranda, Poinciana, Hoop Pine and Mango Trees throughout the area and it is renowned for its yearly Jacaranda Festival which is held when the Jacarandas are majestically flowing towards the end of October. In excess of 10,000 people attend the Jacaranda Festival every year.
